God brought my poster to Moscow!

Today I saw a list of exhibitors on the Golden Bee 9 - Moscow International Biennale of Graphic Design Competition. My name was in the list. Once again God brought His poster to Moscow. My heart is delight in Him. Being His executor on the poster is my highest privilege as a graphic designer.

"Gracious Father, thank You for all this wonderful journey I've been traveling with You. You are my Ultimate Designer, my Ultimate Creative Director, my Ultimate Master who never failed to show me Your love. My heart is delight in Your presence whenever You instructed me to executor Your ideas. Thank You, Lord for all this privilege. In Your name I Honor everything that I achieved. May Your name be Praised Forever and ever more. Amen."

Pollution -1

"Life is beautiful and colourful if we allow God to control our life yet we often blinded by earthly material. People can only see us as a polluted spirit and the image of God gradually faded..."

This poster was created in 45 minutes as I was experimenting the beauty of lines. Thus the idea came and I saw a good message that can be shared around...:-)

Poster - Morning

One morning before I woke up with my eyes still closed, suddenly I saw a visual with a Chinese Character "zao" means morning, appeared vividly with a red Cross as I've illustrated in this poster. Not knowing what it means but the visual is very fresh in mind. It reminds me that Jesus died on the Cross so that I can have LIFE.

The word "zao" has two parts (upper part means sun or day - bottom part is a Cross). "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" - John 3:16

Poster Series - Contradiction

Poster 1
Each of us has a mouth that we can choose to Pray and use for the Glory of God vs Our mouth also can do terrible damage to others

Poster 2
Each of us has a pair of hands that we can choose to Worship and use for the Glory of God vs Our hands also can do terrible damage to others

It was during a Sunday Celebration at my Church when my Senior Pastor shared about Albrecht Durer, a German painter. His famous painting, "The Praying Hands" captured my attention. Inspiration came again from the Bible, "Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing."-James 3:10. It was perfect to illustrate this two messages in this Poster Series - Contradiction. As you can see the seven strips from top are the rainbow colors and this contradict to the seven strips from the bottom, appeared to be black Satan is the Prince of Darkness.

Poster - Dream

This poster was participated at Ten Images for Ithaca, Greece Poster Competition 2008. It was voted top ten and gathered the highest score after the jury's voting. There was 1900 posters submitted by 1257 participants from 70 countries. It was exhibited at Gallery of the Municipality of Ithaca, Greece and at Bios, Athen, Greece.

Winning a design award is way beyond my imagination! All I wish was to participate in design exhibition! When I was in college I used to ask God to grant me a chance to witness my posters at design gallery/exhibition. But in 2008, He granted me to Greece, a country that never in my mind at all. All I can say is "God sent me to Greece" and He inspired me until now and one of the reason this blog was created is to Glorify Him. For He is my Greatest Designer and Creator.

This poster was probably the most joyful poster I ever worked on. The idea came in stages. On the first night, I have no idea what to do, thus I drew boxes and filled up the colors look like pixels yet nothing concrete in mind about the design. The 2nd night, I filled up the boxes with texts and it looked very messy. Along the way, the ideas came and I poured it out in stages until it was completed and look good. Knowing that this kind of feeling is so awesome. It must be from Him. I embraced His presence while doing this poster without any expectation to win but to enjoy the process.

After I came back from Greece, He inspired me more and more until now and the passion still keep me going on...

"Many times our dreams fall on different situation, either we will achieve it or we don't. Sometimes a good dream might falls on the wrong situation at the wrong time thus it became invisible. All this represented by the matching colors of the boxes and the texts. Texts are in two words to show that our dreams either success or fail."

This is my breakthrough poster.

Praise The Lord.

"Lord, there was a time when I dare not dream of anything in life as I felt myself is so weak and hopeless. But You told me it's alright to dream and You will carry me through. You even reminded me how a child like me can be blessed with a great trip to Greece. What more my Heavenly Father can't do for me...Lord, Thank You for this trip and Thank You for making the exhibition a success. Seeing my poster being exhibited was the greatest joy. This trip is meaningless without experiencing the process with You."

Poster Series - Red Chair

Poster 1
When life is directed by God, resulting in harmony with God’s plan

Poster 2
When life is directed by self often resulting in discord and frustration

These Poster Series were created from the understanding of God's love. "Receiving Christ involves turning to God and trusting Christ to come into our lives to forgive us of sins and to make us what He wants us to be. Just to agree intellectually that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for our sins is not enough. Nor is it enough to have an emotional experience. We receive Jesus Christ by faith, as an act of our will. Thus, these Poster Series represent two kinds of lives." It was rather difficult to create at first as the resources to get the proper stool was uncertain as my photographer told me that I have to buy the stool and it is costly. I didn't think much but to let it go. Until one night he mms me the picture of the stool which he shot at his friend's house. It was perfect! And the next day, the stool was in his studio ready to be shot. Praise the Lord! He is indeed my Greatest Provider.
